Joy in our Trials

by Marcos Schultz on April 25, 2024

Faith gets tested, goes through trials, and the trials feel grievous. But when, at the end of that testing, faith shows to be genuine, it results in praise and glory and honor, upon Jesus’ return!

1 Peter 6-7 tells us,

“In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary,
you have been grieved by various trials,
so that the tested genuineness of your faith
—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—
may be found to result in praise and glory and honor
at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

If trials bring praise, glory, and honor, I say, bring them on!

The book of James tells us to consider trials a joyful thing because they are also a purposeful thing. Now I get that this isn’t the normal way of looking at things. But maybe because the Bible gives us this perspective it should be? The hardships you are facing are not meaningless.
