I know that thanksgiving is a powerful tool.
Today, as I read about people who knew God yet gave Him no honor, and no thanks, I am struck by the consequences of their omissions.
“For although they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks to Him,
but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” Romans 1.21
Their hearts were darkened. Ugh.
I contemplated what a darkened heart looks like, and considered what are its poisonous fruits.
My knee jerk response is that a darkened heart is a heart where no light can come in.
Dark heart disease- fatal!
If a lack of thankfulness is part of the cause of that, right now, right here, I want to make sure I am a thankful man.
No entitlement.
Taking nothing for granted.
I am thankful.
Thankful to God.
